Safe Motherhood Project
Enhancing Safe motherhood project funded by Wells Mountain Initiative will run for a period of 6 months to create awareness of hypertensive disorders in pregnant women and women in postpartum period.
The project will begin with doing a baseline survey on knowledge, attitude and practices towards prevention of high blood pressure in pregnancy.
The project will also screen women for danger signs of high blood pressure and pregnancy such as Urine protein and regularly measuring high blood pressure.
Women with complications will be referred to WAU hospitals for definitive management.
Our organization will follow up those that have been referred due to severe cases of high blood pressure.
The project will help to design the best information dissemination on high blood pressure in pregnancy to help reduce maternal mortality.
